Allowing Filezilla through Symantec End Point Protection Firewall

When Atempting to use an FTP client sometimes firewalls block the proper access required by the ftp client.

The following steps take you through allowing an FTP client (Filezilla) access through your firewall (Symantec End Point Security)

Solution

  1. Log in to the Symantec Endpoint Protection Management Console
  1. On the Left side pane, select�Policies
  2. In the Center pane, select�Firewall
  3. Double-click the policy that you want to modify
  4. On the left, select�Rules
  5. At the bottom, click�Add Rule
  6. Click the�Next button three times
  7. On the 'Define an Application' page you must enter�the full path of the executable file related to the application you wish to allow into the�File Name field,
  8. e.g. C:\Program Files\Filezilla\*
  9. Click the�Next
  10. Click�Finish
  11. Highlight the rule that you just created
  12. At the bottom of this page click the�Move Up button and continue to click the Move Up button till this rule is at the top of your list.
